I fell in love with my Canon Rebel XSI the moment my parents gave it to me for high school graduation in 2008. I had the option to keep it or trade it for a laptop. Well…I took one photo of my dog right there in my living room and looked up and said “Keep it!” I began shooting…everything!!! My camera was with me at all times. I shot random things, my friends, animals, flowers, myself, anything I could. I ended up being asked to intern for a wedding photographer the summer after I graduated – at 17. Pretty cool to a 17 year old girl who had only had her camera for 2 months. That is when I fell in love with shooting weddings. I love being able to be a part of someone’s special day and recording their memories that will be past down generations. There is something permanent about a photograph. Paper is never upgrading. The image will always be there on that sheet of paper. That story will live on for as long as that photo is around. After interning and learning from him, I branched out on my own. I have been shooting on my own for 9 years. My business is Savannah Miller Photography – which right now is just my side hustle. Savannah Miller Photography
I don’t get to shoot as much as I would like too, but when I do, I be sure the cherish the art I create for myself and for the person in the photographs.
Here is some of my work from the past year.
